Birmingham, Alabama's Taylor Hollingsworth has always resisted easy categorization. Asked to define his music, he struggled – a little bit folk, a touch of blues, a dash of rock 'n' roll, but not quite fitting neatly into any single box. Eventually, he coined the phrase “Folk n’ Roll” to describe his sound. Now, he's proudly claiming that sound with his latest album, aptly titled "Folk n' Roll." Fans of JJ Cale, Mississippi John Hurt, Chuck Berry, Richard Thompson, Jonathan Richman, and John Prine will find much delight in Hollingsworth's blend of timeless influences.

For much of the early aughts, Hollingsworth toured extensively with his punk-tinged rock band (think Ramones meets Chuck Berry meets ZZ Top) and worked as a hired gun playing guitar with various artists on the road (most notably with Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band). However, following the birth of his daughter, he took a hiatus from touring to dedicate himself to his family and cultivate his craft as a full-time local musician in Birmingham, AL. During this time, he honed his skills through countless monthly residencies at bars and restaurants, playing everything from laid-back brunch sets to raucous late-night clubs. It was during this time that he perfected his captivating one-man show, now dubbed "Folk n' Roll."

After years of refining his act for local crowds, Hollingsworth began working with longtime friend and former bandmate Matt Patton (Drive by Truckers/Dexateens/Laura Jane Grace) who owns and operates Dial Back Sound, a studio and record label based out of Water Valley, MS. After recording and releasing his last album “Yahola” with Dial Back Sound, Hollingsworth found himself hitting the road once again, armed with his new solo one-man show. His performances are a sight to behold - finger-picked electric guitar, a mic'd up foot stomp box providing the rhythmic backbone, and occasionally the addition of a looper pedal to layer in guitar solos, all while delivering his signature storytelling lyrics. Audiences are consistently blown away by the unexpectedly big sound he creates, with many proclaiming it to be one of the best shows they've ever seen.

Since the release of “Yahola,” Hollingsworth has been a road warrior, touring with a wide stylistic range of artists including Laura Jane Grace, Jake Xerxes Fussell, Dash Rip Rock, and Har Mar Superstar, while also headlining his own shows across the United States. He continues to captivate crowds with his raw talent, quick fingers, and well-crafted lyrical compositions. Hollingsworth's dedication to his craft has earned him widespread recognition. His songs have been featured in popular TV shows, podcasts, and films, and covered by artists Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers in their project Better Oblivion Community Center. Most recently, he's been named a finalist in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition, placing him in the top 2% of over 13,000 entries.

In addition to his solo work, Hollingsworth is a founding member of Dead Fingers (a folk-rock duo with wife Kate Hollingsworth) whose song "Ring Around Saturn" has amassed over 3 million streams worldwide. He also penned “Inside Out,” and “She Still Shouts,” for his rock 'n' roll band, The Blips, both of which were crowned “Coolest Song in the World” on Little Steven's Underground Garage. With "Folk n' Roll," Taylor Hollingsworth invites you to join him on the next phase of his unique musical journey.

SHIPPING:

We ship Monday through Friday. Orders typically ship within 24-72 hours. Tracking is sent to the email you provide at check out and may take a few days to become active.

Any items ordered with Pre-Orders will be held until they can all ship together. If you need in stock items faster please order them seperately.

RETURNS:

Returns are only accepted on damaged or defective items. Return requests must be made within 7 days of delivery. Please save the original packaging.

If you own a Crosley, Victrola or any other lower end turntable that has no ability to adjust the weight of the tone arm and are experiencing skipping on a new record please try the "Penny Trick". Simply place a penny on the top of the cartidge and it should provide enough weight to resolve your issues. While a great entry to the world of vinyl we do recommend upgrading to a turntable with a tone arm that can be adjusted as this issue will randomly occur. We do not take returns in these cases.

Resellers: If you are buying from us for resale we honestly don't mind. However, please don't panic if something you bought suddenly isn't flipable for more money and then try to return stuff to us because you feel like you made a bad investment choice. Despite our outsized reputation we're a small shop, not amazon. Absorbing these costs adds up on places like ours. Plus a little patience always tends to pay off.

CANCELLATIONS:

Due to an increasing number of payment processors no longer returning transaction fees to sellers on cancelled orders and rising labor costs any orders or pre-orders that need to be cancelled before shipment will be assessed a 5% cancellation/restocking fee on the order total including shipping and any other taxes or fees associated with the order.

Thank you for your understanding.
