Written for Dana Jessen, Ben Roidl-Ward, and Katherine Young, it exploits the bassoon's capacity for multiphonics and microtonal inflection to build dense, vibrating spectra from the instruments' fundamental acoustic properties alone — no electronics, no processing — occupying a rare space between the spectral worlds of Scelsi and Dumitrescu and the sustained physical weight of Sunn O))). Across two long movements, the music moves between stasis and propulsion, arriving at transformation through sustained attention .
