The recordings were compiled on the perhaps confusingly titled double album, California Here I Come, in 1982, issued two years after Evans’ passing. Despite the perceived coastal mix-up, one thing is clear: Evans and his rhythm section were in fine form, delivering unbridled spirit, rhythmic fire and high-energy interplay with each other on readings of standards like, “‘Round Midnight,” “In a Sentimental Mood,” “Stella by Starlight,” and the then-new Bacharach\/David standout “Alfie.” The Verve Vault series is all-analog, cut from the original master tapes by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound and pressed on 180-gram vinyl.\u003c\/div\u003e","brand":"UMG","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45198117568712,"sku":"199957337496","price":43.0,"currency_code":"CAD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0628\/1337\/2616\/files\/92_74e8ef4f-eb1f-4f39-9f42-b351b51f4ec9.webp?v=1787336156","url":"https:\/\/1234gorecords.shop\/en-ca\/products\/199957337496","provider":"1-2-3-4 Go!
