The guitar playing isn't something you admire but get a visceral thrill from, on the opening 4 tracks. \"Ether\" opens like \u003ci\u003eCloser\u003c\/i\u003e would in 80' if that band's title were still Warsaw, \"Natural's Not in It\" would be sex if it weren't so hellbent on tearing apart our treasured capitalism, \"Not Great Men\" is a fighting man's disco hit, and \"Damaged Goods\" is simply one of the most inspired punk songs of all time--a pedigree that caused a urban legend that a genre could die, and if it did it would be under this song's weight. The rest of the album offers variations of these opening tracks, more or less to a fault. However, the album ends on a high with 3 tracks that offer a more timeless alternative to P.I.L.'s antics of the same year. \"Anthrax\" is as dangerous as the title implies, being born from a omniscient cloud of napalm. These were the four horsemen of the punk apocalypse, raising all sorts of hell with the demonic rhythms and trends of punk. Doing it all so deceptively simple and precise that it feels like it were written in scripture so long ago. If only the ignorant were more aware to the fact that it is more open to interpretation than it has you to believe, we would have something to truly build upon rather than bury ourselves under.
